How come Gwen Stefani calls her fans, "f-ing weirdos" at No Doubt concerts?

I think it comes from the punkish, high school out cast, geek, weirdo status that she grew up with. Just because she's beautiful and popular now, it doesn't mean she was always that way. I think it's her way of connecting with her young fans who are like she was as a teenager. She was part of the so called "weirdo" crowd as a teenager.
