Speeding ticket help!?

I got a speeding ticket in Banning California on January 1, 2010. I havent received my courtesy note to pay the bail up until today (February 27, 2010). My court date is March 22, 2010 and i do not want to show up because I have a midterm on that day. What should i do? I already tried calling the court and they said nothing came up under my name.
