I need to reset my zune or cn some1 hlp me because mu comm wnt read my zune?

I used my Laptop to pu music and other stuff into my zune the other day and now when i connect it it tells me that the zune has malfuntioned and that it cannot be read...it still charges the zune but says it cant read what it is..this is a new zune and no not the zune hd its the 8 gig regular size one..some one please help
